Now it is time to renew your club membership or new members can join.

AASC Club Memberships are ready for purchase!

I am pleased to report that the 2023/24 membership registration and payment process is painless.  We have tested the system with a few families without issue.

So, please head to –

https://authcrm2.swimming.org.au/Account/Login

Hopefully things are intuitive from there, but here are a few pointers:

  • Log in and re-set password if needed.  New members, you will first need to create Swim Central accounts via the link above.
  • Returning Members would have recently received an e-mail directly from Swim Central.  The system has placed a replacement membership in your Shopping Cart to make things easy.  You can review this and pay, or clear the system (if there are changes) and follow the steps below.
  • Go to Store
  • Go To Memberships
  • Select who you are purchasing for (on the right), and you should be presented with two/three options – Club Swimmer, Dry Supporter and Second Claim Membership (see screenshot #1 below).
  • For existing members, the Ashfield ASC membership options should pop straight up.  If they do not, or for new members, just search for Ashfield on the left.
  • Add to cart, noting that when you click on the cart the Active Kids Voucher option pops up for children.
  • Note that the swimmer’s age drives some options – ie Dry Supporter is only available for 18+ and Kids Voucher will only pop up for is for <19.  Hence, if an option is not coming up, it is likely that you are on the wrong person – ie no kid voucher option might mean that you are trying to pay for an adult, and you will need to correctly select the child.

Please also see attached link for further details on Swim Central (if needed) – https://nsw.swimming.org.au/swim/join/swim-central-member-resources

From there, we just need your money!

New Members – please head to Swim Central via the link above and register

2023-24 Membership Options

Ashfield Swim Club – Club Swimmer 2023/24 – $125

This membership is for all swimmers.  If you are swimming, and are not a member of another club, then this is the membership for you!  Applies to kids and adults.

Ashfield Swim Club – Dry Supporter 2023/24 – $40

This membership is for adults who are not swimming, but wish to show their support for the Club.  This is not compulsory, though we are strongly encouraging people to join this membership category to bolster club numbers as we negotiate pool time with the Ashfield Aquatic Centre etc.  Robust membership numbers will definitely help, and we appreciate the support.

Ashfield Swim Club – Second Claim Membership 2023/24 – $50

If you don’t know what it is, stay away!  Or talk to Craig Stubbs.  This membership is for swimmers who are also members of other competitive clubs – ie Leichhardt and PLC.

Life Members

Do not purchase anything from Swim Central!  Please pay Craig in cash as usual.  Rabbitohs fans and Frank have special pricing again this year 😊

A final note – you are not covered by insurance unless you are registered.  Please register before you turn up to club for your first swim.  This does not apply to new members who are welcome to try things out before committing.

Any queries, please just ask Craig at Club or craig_stubbs@outlook.com

We are pleased to announce that the order portal for our new club swimmers will be open for 3 weeks from today Friday 18th August to Friday 8th September. This portal has been set up for our club on the Pontoon Sports website, and can only be used to order our club swimmers (not any other products they might sell).
Please read the below instructions carefully before ordering. How to order

  1. Review the attached Final Design document to choose your style.

There is also a size guide on the order portal which you can access once you have added an order to the cart. Note that you will not be able to swap sizes once you have received your order so it is really important to get the sizing right. We may have one or two extra in some sizes but there won’t be a large pool of extras.

  4. Create an account as prompted.

  8. This should take you back to the home page. Repeat with other styles if required.
  9. Click on the Shopping Cart top right to checkout.

After you have completed your order and made payment, your card will be charged a 10c verification fee, and the full amount will only be charged once the order window has closed on 8th September.Should you change your mind during the order period, you can go back into the portal and amend your order.Once the order period has closed the order cannot be changed.
CollectionThere is no facility to have orders sent to you directly, so we are getting them sent to the club and we will be at the pool from 9am–10:30am on Saturday Oct 7th (the week before club starts) to distribute them. You can drop in and collect them then, or pick them up at the first week of club on Saturday Oct 14th.
We need a minimum number of orders to open the order portal again, so this may be your only opportunity to order club swimmers for the 23/24 season. Please plan ahead and order up!

Weeks 18 and 19

Week 18 and we’re hurtling towards the end of the season. Club champs and Swim and Survive continued. Swimmer of the Week (with her second qualification of the year) was Isabella Kelly. Also pictured is Edward Bates with his award from last week (if you can make out the pic).

We also congratulated longstanding club member John Rayment on being awarded the Police Service Medal for 40 years service in the police force. We honoured his contribution by asking him to draw the raffle. Another terrible pic – sorry John.

Week 19 saw a cold and windy day but this did not deter our trusty timekeepers.

For the club champs we did the 100 m backstroke and 100 m butterfly – tough week.

Plus we had the final week of Swim and Survive, and a trainer from NSW Royal Life Saving ran the annual Resuscitation (CPR) course, which was well attended.

SOTW was shared this week by Oskar Stubbs and Luke Glasscock. Oskar qualified for 200 m breaststroke, and Luke for 30 m breaststroke. Well done boys!

And it was great to see former club president Grant O’Grady back from the UK and pulling on the budgies for a swim or two.

See you next week!

Week 17

A spectacular morning for swimming this week – only a few more weeks to enjoy this wonderful view.

Club Championships continued this week with the  200m FS, 20m BK, 30m BF and 50m BK. A busy day but we still managed to do some club swims and a relay too.

SoTW was shared by Matilda Birch (who qualified for 50m FS) and Edward Bates (who qualified for 100m BR) – well done to them both! Edward had left early so missed his photo op.

And congratulations too to Oskar, Daphne and Laura who were presented with their medals for coming third in their respective age groups at the Battle On the Bay last week.

See you next week!

Week 16

The Club Championships continued this week with the 200 IM, 20 FS, 30 BK, 50 FS all being swum. Records were broken so watch this space for details!

SoTW this week was Laura Willemsen – she hardly ever misses a meet and is now the second fastest over 400m in the Club. Her battles with Sarah, Daphne and Dani keep the crowds coming. Well done Laura!

Also pictured are Kaiella Stubbs and Josephine Steele who picked up their award from the previous week.

The Battle On The Bay took place on Saturday afternoon, and AASC had another great turnout.

Caroline BB put in a gold medal performance while Laura, Daphne and Oskar achieved Bronze medals & Aaron won silver. Our young swimmers achieved plenty of PBs and most importantly, enjoyed the carnival event.

See you next week!

Week 15

Week 15 saw a bright and sunny Saturday for the start of the Club Championships. It was great to see so many swimmers lining up for the 400m FS, 20m BR, 30m FS and 40m BR.

Sally Steele was the well-deserved SoTW, for her epic swims the previous week. She did 2 x 200ms, a 100 m butterfly and she made her way to the Championships for all bar one event. Well done Sally!!

The first week of Swim and Survive got underway, with our club volunteers taking the kids through their safety skills at various levels. Thanks to everyone for giving their time.

See you next week!

Week 14

The day dawned cloudy but mostly dry and the deluge held off so we could all get our last qualifying swims in before the championship round starts next week.

A big shout out to the timekeepers who braved the rain and managed to keep the timesheets (mostly) dry.

Swimmers of the Week went to Kaiella Stubbs and Josephine Steele, both of whom got their second qualification of the season last week. Well done girls!

And it was a red letter day for the club as we were presented with new lane numbers for the timekeepers. A big thanks to Susan McGrath Champ for producing these little beauties…

See you next week!

Weeks 11–13

Welcome back to a new year with AASC!

We’ve had three great weeks of swimming to welcome in the new year.

SoTW in Week 11 went to Dylan Bennett, who posted quite a few qualifications early in the season and is close to qualifying on a couple of strokes at the moment.  Congratulations Dylan!

Then Jeremy Glasscock got  SoTW for great participation and regularly posting lots of swims. Well done Jeremy!

Sad to report that our Vice President, Aaron Langman, and his kids Leo and Eli, won’t be returning regularly this year due to other sport commitments on Saturday morning. We’ll certainly miss the sheer speed and swimming talent of all three Langmans.

Next week is the last week to qualify for races in the Club Championship, and that and Swim and Survive start on Feb 15th. See you next week!
