Current Season

On a beautiful Saturday afternoon Feb 17, the AASC BoB or Battle on the Bay team enjoyed a wonderful friendly, but ever so slightly competitive swimming event with fellow local clubs Leichhardt SC, Drummoyne SC and Enfield SC. Drummoyne SC was celebrating 120 years of swimming at their pool and the BoB carnival is now 15 years old. AASC was represented by 38 swimmers, and there were plenty of PBs and some great relays. Some exciting results were;

Matilda Marshall 3rd in 9/10 years

Maiya Staplehurst 3rd in 11/12 years

Nicholas Fleming 1st 15/16 years

Katie Ellem 2nd in the 19-49 years (PS she was competing against swimmers slightly younger than herself).

Caroline Butler-Bowden 1st in the 50+ once again defending her title successfully.

Craig Stubbs 3rd in the 50+ after tactically not swimming in the club championship. He was greatly assisted by Dave Steele’s breaststroke and by the club president allowing himself to be touched out by 0.02 seconds in the backstroke.

In the relays the 13/14 team finished 3rd and we fielded teams in every age group plus two teams in the 10x50m relay which finished 4th and 7th.

AASC finished 3rd overall with LSC winning again, DSC 2nd and Enfield 4th.

Well done team and we look forward to hosting the event in 2025 February.
